Ash Class
In Ash Class we are taught and supported by Miss King, Mrs Harding, Mrs Upshall and Mrs Acton.
In Year 1 our curriculum focuses on building on skills learnt in EYFS. Children continue to develop reading, writing and maths skills in daily lessons. In our wider curriculum we look at exciting topics including sketching, The Great fire of London and Continents and Oceans.
In Year 1 phonics is an essential part of our learning. All children take part in daily RWI lessons every morning and an extra speed sounds lesson in the afternoon. The children bring a reading book home matched to their phonics ability.
